The little card from the front desk has everything on it. Take a picture and it's on your calendar.

The card that never makes it home

The receptionist writes the next appointment on a card, you put it in a pocket or a bag, and it surfaces three months later — often after the appointment. Or you type it into your phone in the corridor and mistype the month.

Photograph it at the desk

Take the photo before you leave. The date, the time and the practice address go into your calendar, with the address tappable for directions when the day comes. Add an alert — a day before is usually the useful one for appointments.

Dentist and vet cards, physio blocks of six sessions, school parent-evening slips, and the printed confirmation from a garage or salon. If several dates are printed on one card, they're all read in one go.
